Following the march by the students and people of Totnes from the Dartington Estate to the Civic Square, a public meeting was held under the aegis of the Mayor of Totnes, Pruw Boswell. Staff, Union representatives, the Head of the Student Union, Campaigners and members of the public spoke to a packed hall and to the 'overflow' of people who listened via loudspeakers placed outside the hall.
