| MP Steen: I am quite sure the management (of the College) will have to change |
|
In an interview published in today's Totnes Times, local MP Anthony Steen called for a change in management at the College, and claimed that the Principal Andrew Brewerton had tried to 'shut up protest' by claiming that the College would close if it didn't receive the money to move to Falmouth and that was no evidence that the Principal's statement was correct.
"If the European money was not forthcoming, there was everything to play for" Mr Steen insisted.
He added: "I am quite sure the management will have to change. And I am quite sure the way it is run will have to change, because that was what was responsible for the present debacle"
Jane Henderson, CEO of the South West Regional Development Agency has written to Mr Steen saying that no decision has yet been taken to allocate European funding to relocate the College.
The RDA is to meet with Campaign members in Plymouth on 10th May and will also be meeting with Mr Steen in the next few weeks.
